Biography
Dr. Jason B. Pieper serves as an assistant professor of dermatology at Iowa State University, where he applies his expertise in advanced dermatological procedures and specialized veterinary care. A Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Dermatology (DACVD) since 2015, after receiving his DVM from Iowa State University in 2009, Dr. Pieper completed both his dermatology residency and master's degree at the University of Illinois, earning his MS in 2016.
His practice focuses on cutting-edge dermatological interventions, including advanced dermoscopy, CO₂ laser surgery, and platelet-rich plasma therapies. Dr. Pieper has developed particular expertise in treating complex conditions such as resistant bacterial infections, dermatophytosis, and challenging cases of otitis, while maintaining an active interest in dermatohistopathology.
Dr. Pieper's path to veterinary medicine reflects a unique trajectory. Prior to his medical career, he served with distinction in the U.S. Navy (1995-2000), including a notable tenure as a White House chef where he served senior staff and dignitaries.
